I've spent many summers in Selinunte, as my family comes from a town very close to there.
The beach is clean and beautiful. My recommendation would be to have lunch at Baffo's, a long, leisurely lunch. Leonardo is a fantastic waiter, and all of the other staff are very helpful as well.
The main street in Selinunte is a one way, if you follow the street in the direction of the flow of traffic, the last beach entrance on your left, where you pay for chairs/ umbrella's, etc. is the one to go to. The staff are great and you don't get people coming up to you trying to sell you stuff.
If you feel like some culture, you pass the Selinute Greek ruins on the way out, give them a go, very interesting to see.
