A wonderful part of Sicily

We enjoyed our two nights in the Marina of Selinunte immensely. We stayed at the Hotel Admeto, which is a contemporary 4-star hotel. The rooms are contemporary and have nice terraces, and the balcony looks over the sea and is gorgeous. The service needs much improvement and the lobby needs to be warmer and more lively. Our time on the beach and exploring the ruins was absolutely wonderful. And the food at La Pineta seafood restaurant (on the beach beyond the main part of the Marina) is absolutely fantastic, some of the best fish and seafood we have ever had. Go on a warm night and they may have tables in the sand. A locals' restaurant that is no-frills but absolutely perfect. Enjoy the linguine with clams (vongole), the gamberoni, and the spaghetti siciliana. The mussels are also not-to-be-missed. The beach to the west of the main marina is particularly love (in the direction of La Pineta and the reserve).
